Question slick and wheel prices/combos

ok i have a few questions
1. what is the WIDEST slick that can fit in a 89 mustang gt without any modifications?
2. what are some of the slick and wheel combos you guys use and have success with?
3. what were the prices (if you don't mind) of the slicks and wheels and how many runs do you get outta them?

The widest slick you can fit in the wheel well is a 28x10.5" slick. I believe you need an 8 inch rim with 4.5 inch offset. It will come close to the quad shocks and it will hit the fender on bumps. You can make it work at the strip though. If you roll the fender, it won't touch at all unless you have a passenger in the rear seat. Some mustangs have run into the 9's with this slick, so you might not need it. A lot of guys run 26x10" slicks instead. You'll need 4:10's or lower to run the 28"er. If you want to run 11's or slower, a 26"x10" slick will probably be just fine. Slicks are around $160 each and $50 for inner tubes. Long burnouts are unnecessary, they are fun however, but slicks will last a long time if you don't roast them. A 2-3 second burnout is plenty. You can expect a good year or so depending on how much you go to the strip. Try a dry hop in the burnout box before burning out. If your car hooks and the front end pops up, drive around the water and skip the burnout. No need to waste money.
