ROller Rockers How tight
I'm putting 1.72 roller rockers on my 5.0 and I need to know how far do I torque them down.
0 lash is when the rocker is just touching both the rod and the valve stem, right And then do I tighten them down 1/4 turn Because I was doing this and the valves where begining to open. Should my lifters compress, because some of them do not. Thanks |

If they are pedistal mount rockers the torque should be 25 ft lbs.
And yes some of the valves will open.

For stud mount rockers you just tighten down the nut till there is no up and down play in the pushrod and then tighten it 1/4-3/4 of a turn and then tighten the set screw.
When the intake valve starts to close set the exhaust valve. When the exhaust valve starts to open set the intake valve. Easy money,
