Heads heads and more heads...
There are some many different heads out there and they are driving a fellow crazy. This winter i'm building my 302 and on the bottom end of things i'm just gonna bore it 30 over and put forged pistions in it. I am hoping to run somewhere in the 12's if thats possible. I am wondering what is the best head out there if there is just one. I would like to here feed back on what you guys have used and experienced. Cast iron or aluminum it doesn't matter nor does the price. Thanks

185's are too big for a mild 306 IMO

Absolutely the 165 head. Doesn't give up much flow to the 185 and with the smaller runners, it will make more torque than the 185 on the street - VERY important for driveability! AFR 165 + Crower 15511 + Cobra/Explorer intake with ported lower = 300RWHP and 12s should come very easy at 3300# weight.

TW is also a good head and about $300 cheaper, but it doesn't usually make the quite as much power in stock form.

Roush 200s
They are awesome cast iron heads that flow well. But I would go with the AFR 185s if you are looking to go with a higher flowing head. The roush heads are way better than the GT40 heads iron or aluminum.
