Default Hood flew off

My hood flew off...the latch broke. Well it dented in my cowl (the piece where the windshield wipers are coming from. I am going to have to buy a new one. Anyone know how hard it is to switch this out and what it will consist of?

Thanks.

Oh, and the cowl vent is 6 screws I beleive, real simple, the wipers, lock them out with the little latch and they will pull straight off. I would try getting one form the junk yard and then repainting it. Or you could always order new from Ford or Mustang Restoration.

Default I think you are misunderstanding me...

I am talking about the WHOLE cowl...the steel and all...I will take a pic and try to post it so you can understand.

I was driving this past summer and punched it and my cowl hood came flying up...scared the hell out of me. Dinted the cowl panel, roof, cracked the hood, wreaked my gauges I had mounted.
Luckly for me my Autopac paid for it ALL!, new Cervinis hood, Autometer gauges, paint for the hood, fenders, and roof.
As far as replacing the steel cowl piece you could get one from a wrecked car from the wreckers, they are only held on by a couple of tack welds. I was thinking of replacing it but Autopac paid to get it fixed...I guess a good body shop can fix that sort of thing. But like I said, even someone with no autobody experience could tack a new one into place.

Sorry to hear that You are going to have to look into a body shop to repair the cowl area.

This vid should make you feel better (As in at least yours was not this bad) I was at the track the night he did this. Cool Guy, runs a shop down in Cincy.
