Default Please Help!!!

I'm having major ignition trouble. I fried the ignition in my 89 GT i'm still not sure which part and then put the ignition in from my 88 5.0. well I was just racing my friend and the second ignition failed same thing no spark.
Please someone why is my car killing its ignition system this doesn't make sense to me.
What could fry the ignition
Computer?

What part of the ignition is fried? You might check to see if your alternators' voltage regulator is functioning. If you were at high rpms when something in your ignition fried, you could have possibly sent too much voltage to the ignition.

sill question did your car get the ignition fix from ford ? 89 maf cars ?

This voltage regulator is there a way to check it to see if it is working and also has this happened to other mustangs before because I would think there would have been parts in the ignition to resist voltage spikes.

I'm not sure about the second post, I fixed the 89 Mustang with a complete ignition from an 88 mustang. The 89 and 88 Mustang ignitions were the same correct?

Also could my computer be messing things up
Please let me know if anyone has ever seen this prob

You fried the TFI module or the coil?

This should tell you how to test the regulator.

heres what I found
I tried using my old coil that reads .3 ohms and nothing
Then I tried another coil that I knew worked in my 88 5.0 2 days earlier and the car spudders but does not stay running, this coil reads .5 ohms

Why would my coil be fried, and is there a way to tell if my TFI is fried also
Last question the computer couldn't be doin this could it, is it most likely my voltage regulator

You can remove the TFI module and take a VERY close look at it - look for black/burn marks on it...
It would be my guess, they are common failure areas.

I found that one of my coils is bad. Where is a good place to get one,
Also what would make a coil quit cause this coil was a few month old.

Is there any other item other then the voltage regulator that would fry an ignition

A tech at the Ford dealer told me that there is a Crank position sensor on my 89 GT. Am I right in saying there is Not a crank sensor on an 89 GT
