Got it running!
Hey guys. After a long time in the making, my 306 is finally running!!!!! It sounds like a freaking badass pissed off funny car or something. I'm running the Holley 650 carb (probably rich as hell right now) and 1 5/8 long tubes with no mufflers and I love it! I have never heard a vehicle that sounds quite like this before. The cam is a monster!!!! It lopes at 2000!!!!! But the damn thing is awesome! I can't wait to bleed the brakes and get a clutch cable to go break this baby in. I still need a radiator that doesn't leak though. Going to the junk yard this week. Hopefully next weekend comes the break in and after that the fun. I'll post pics of the finished product (looks freaking awesome) and some sound files too. :-)

Congrats!
Make sure you dont run your motor for a long time too rich, it may cause ring seal damage!!!(espeacially washing the cylinders down with fuel.) The first 15-20 mins is important. After the break in you can run it a little rich to be safe, but the initial 20 mins is vital for the rings to seat. (When you are washing the cylinders down, you will see a lot of black and blue smoke coming out the exhust. If you dont see that and it just smells rich , then that is a different story.) There definately wasn't any black smoke or anything. It just smelt a little rich. I pulled some plugs and they looked okay. I wish the weather wasn't so damn cold here. I'm ready to go drive this thing, but no heater. You know that damn heater core weighs a lot! :-) Anyway, I'll let you all know what sort of numbers this bad boy runs here in a while when the track opens.
