Tranny time
Anybody have any info on a TKO? I need to replace my tranny within the next 2 months and was leaning toward this one. I got an install price of 2500 including a new tranny, bell housing, clutch and pro 5 oh shifter. This is from a very reputable shop that does great work. What do you guys think?

HELL NO FOR $2500. I don't have the TKO but my Tremec is almost the same, just a couple of differences. I got mine through D&D for $1550 with Pro-5.0 shifter, LAKEWOOD bellhousing, clutch. Shop around a little and you should find a better price then what you did.

Im thinking about a new tranny too, cuz I need a rebuild. Ny second gear grinds like crazy going in if I dont take it slow. I was thinking of getting the 3550 too, or should I just rebuild. They wanna charge me $1000 for a rebuild on my T-5. Remember, I live in the Bay Area (silicon valley) so they really rape you on the prices here. Putting in the tranny would be ATLEAST $500 here in labor. Im leaning towards the rebuild cuz Im not sure how much power I'll be pushing eventually and I already do have a Pro 5.0 shifter. What should I do??

StreetStang37-
For around 1000 you can get a "Z" T5 from D&D. This is currently the stongest T5, I have used one for a couple of years and have had no problems. ------------------ 89 (GR40 Griggs)LX 89 LX Coupe 90 LX Coupe |
