frontend shudder
I have a 95 5.0 mustang with an AOD transmission. Upon acceleration, the frontend shudders. This normally occurs when the car shifts through 2nd gear and them smooths out. I have been told it could be an electrical problem with the transmission to the tires being out of balance. I dont think it would be the tires since it does not happen at highway speeds. I only have 62,000 miles on the drivetrain, and the transmission is stock; no shift kit, rebuilds, etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think I would check out the tires first. Drive at the speed you are at when the tranny usually shifts except keep it in 1st, and if its not shuddering close to that speed, its probably not the wheels/tires. You will usually feel tire shake on the front end through the steering wheel. Some other things to check are the Driveshaft/u-joints, motor and tranny mounts, and possibly even the torque converter has lost a balance weight. I hope this helps.
