What about dyeing or staining carpet?
I just finished installing front and rear seats out of a Toyota.
They are grey and black so it doesn't look so good with my grayish/tannish (or whatever that stock color is) looking carpet. I know I can buy a whole new molded carpet but I'm wondering if anyone has ever used a dye or something else to change color. I just want it to be a darker gray and thought it would be cheaper and easier to avoid having to take all the seats & console out to re-carpet.

IMO, I wouldn't because the stain could get me high everytime I drive or if the car has been sitting in the sun, it's going to have that smell of dye constantly.
If you dye it, aren't you going to take the seats and console out to dye it anyway? Might as well drop the new in.

I would probably just dye the visible areas.
Seems like I've heard of dyeing carpets in houses. Don't know if it would smell afterwards or not.......
