I just put my 91 gt back together. Tried to shift it and wouldn't go into gear fluid level was good. So I pulled the pan off and there is oil in the transmission fluid and I have no idea how it got there? Was wondering if anyone could tell me how this could happen?

The only way I could see that happening AT ALL is if you got a bad head gasket and a really bad radiator, but the chances of that are 1 in a million. Are you SURE its oil? How much of it?

Yep, just don't see it happening. Maybe a unknowing former owner or mechanic poured oil in the dipstick/fill tube thinking it was for engine oil?

Yeah i am sure it is oil. It did have a blown head gasket. The only way I could think of is the past owner pour oil down the dipstick.

I was gonna suggest that but I thought most people would be able to tell what the trans dipstick looks like since it says trans fluid on the handle. But then again, theres just some people out there ya know.
