Post e-cam question!

I just put together a new motor and it's runnig a little rough! It's a stock HO short block with Edelbrock heads and intake,E303 cam, 1 5/8 headers, and off road h-pipe. It idles at about 650-750 rpm but it's very lumpy! If I goose the gas a little it jumps to life and smooths out nicely. Should an E303 cam idle that roughly. The only new parts on the car besides the cam are the heads and the h-pipe. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't idle the E cam that low. Increasing the idle speed to 800rpms would probably help quite a bit.

My, and Skymans E-cam cars both have a rumpita-rumpita idle. It's supposed to sound that way.

I have the exact same setup with the crane equivalent of the e-cam. It has a noticable lope but I would double check your timing because mine sounded like a F-cam at first but that was at 2 deg. timing thanks to my crappy timing light, but it is still noticeable at 14 deg.

Cool

Your idle is way to low...raise it in the 800-900 range. And yes, the ecam's got a nice lumpy idle/sound. Not too much, but definitely noticeable.
