Engine wiring harness
Okay, today was a strange day. I have been having missing problems at 5800rpm. So I started moving wires around and when I moved the main harness that clips to the intake my digital TPS sensor went haywire reading all different voltages from .8 to 1.42. The idle went from a crappy 1100 to 2000. Should I try to find the wire that is not making contact or buy a new harness. I am thinking I should just buy a new harness but not sure where to get one. Any ideas on who to go through for the main engine harness. Also strange day cause the heater core decided to start leaking. Not bad for being 14+ years old. Thank you in advance for the help. I am so glad I found this site.

Painless wiring makes a harness but it is universal. Jeg's sells them but they will tear up a $500 bill. The wire colors are right but things aren't in the same place. My car suffer a fuel fire & I was going to replace th harness til I saw what it would entail. I would check for a bad connection first & do just about anything before replacing the control harness. I bought one & didn't install it (might sell it too if your really want to try to change it). I went through evey wire throught the harness before finding out that wasn't the problem. If I can find my 'cheat sheet' I could email my wiring code that lists what the wire is, its color & where it is on the computer terminal.

Thank you for the response, I have been talking to some friends and we might do the wire hunt before I have to buy a harness. I also thought that somewhere in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords someone had a Ford Mustang correct harness but I can't remember who. Guess I will have to do some back issue searching. Will let you know what happens or if I have find the Ford harness.
