Default cold air thingies

do the fenderwell mount cold air intakes work as well as ive been hearing or are they a waste?

Default Supposedly?

Supposedly, for every 10 degrees F that you can lower the intake air temp, you will get about a 1% increase in SAE HP. So they should help a little. Is it worth the $ ? You be the judge. I did build one for my car, but it's a carbed antique, LOL.

Besides, you can build one with stuff from Home depot for like $15. *not counting the cost of the K&N*
I know that theres a page out there for building one out of pvc for an sn-95, I just cant find the article , Little help guys?

The stock intake system is cold air, remove the air silencer, install a K&N Filter and your set.

Keep your stock setup, minus the silencer, and use a drop in K&N. If you build your engine up, go with a NA powerpipe from Anderson Ford Motorsports. Any of the other "cold air" kits are a waste of money unless you just want to dress up your engine bay.

I used a BBK cold air (fender) and noticed quite a difference in my lower end, not to mention its looks good under the hood, and sounds cool to, you can here is sucking when you give it gas...

Mine used to make that noise as well but it kinda got on my nerves. So I took the wheel off and splash guard (or whatever it's called) and put some dynomat sound insulation inside the fender now it's back to as if I still had the stock airbox on.

Anyone know where to get the rubber couplings to use on the cold air kits? I'm going to switch to an 80mm MAF and the one I currently have is for a 70mm.

stock airbox + K&N filter - air silencer = cold air intake

dyno proven to be equal to a CIA for 1/4 the price

I totally argree with Ghettopop on this one. Unless you are getting it just for the bling factor, save your money. If you have a somewut powerful NA engine (over 400hp), then go with a AFM power pipe.
