Distributor Installation ??? help!
i have a 94 cobra. I just had the block bored out and had the whole motor rebuilt. now im trying to drop in an MSD pro billet distributor and im having some trouble getting it to seat all the way against the block. The oil pump shaft that goes into the bottom of the distributor is always leaning to one side or the other, and wont stay stright up n down. Anyone out there had this problem before? any tricks you know that will help me out i'd appreciate it, thanx!

The oil pump shaft shouldn't be leaning at all. it should be straight up. if its leaning you may have snapped the shaft. get a flash light and look to see what happened. Thats not normal by any means. it could have come out of the oil pump as well.

oil pump shaft
now im gettin worried. i can look down the distributor hole with a flashlight and a long screwdriver and barely touch it and it wabbles really easily. i dont think its broken or anything but maybe its not seated in the oil pump correctly. if it is out, what can i do and how hard is it to get it in the oil pump??? it seems really strange to me why its so loose inside there, isnt it supposed to be stirdy and straight up?? i put a small socket on the end of a couple extensions to where i can get down there and turn it, it spins fine but i dont know what to do. any help would be great! thanx.

Mine leans just like yours. I am on my 4th 5.0 and the shaft leaned on all of them.
I am not reccomending you do this cause it would suck if you dropped the shaft in the pan. I have seen people pull the shaft out with a magnet and put a thick coat of grease on the shaft and re-insert it. The grease will hold it centered. I have never personaly done this but I have seen a guy do it before.
