Default changing FP- did i do it right?

i changed the Fp in my car to 43. i was reading some other posts and saw that some had disconnected a vacuum line when doing so. all i did was loosen the nut and turn the screw with an allen wrench until it read 43. i then tightened it up and shut it off. was this right? thanks

jim

you adjust it with the vaccum line off... then after you set it, put the line back on.

The vaccum line is on the FP regulator its self. right on the top, pop it off, set your fp then pop it back on.

If you set it with the line hooked up to 43 psi your actual wide open throttle pressure will be around 60 psi. Not good.

Or leave the line on and set it without the engine running.

holy crap that sucks - i looked at my FPR and did not see a line off the top. i have a vacuum line hooked up to the back of it that leads to a T that branched off to the vacuum tree i think. if i set it with it off, do i ned the key turned on. AND if this is the line that needs to be pulled off (in the aforementioned), do i disconnect it before i start it up and reconnect after i shut it off, or does it matter? thanks

jim

THIS IS A BBK FPR BTW! AND I HAVE NITROUS IF IT MATTERS!!!
AND I HAVE A GAUGE THAT TELLS ME WHAT IT IS AT BUILT IN.

just making sure cause my vacuum line is not on the top of my FPR. it is on the back side that leads to a T for my nitrous lines. thanks,

jim

ok, i pulled the vacuum line (the one from the tree above the FPR that hooks around and enters the FPR on the back side). when i pulled it off, it jumped up to around 50. i adjusted it to read abot 43. I then put the line back in and it dropped to 37. does this sound right? so i want a reading of 43 vacuum line off and 37 vacuum line on??? Im a freaking retard here!!! help me out!!!

thanks,,jim

this should be an easy fn thing to do!

i also think my screw for adjusting is about to fall out it is so far out!

Default BBK FPR

You adjust the BBK fuel pressure regulator by using an Allen key? That's strange to me, my Accel regulator adjusts with a screwdriver, and the adjustment is on the fitting which the vacuum line connnects to- so you have to removed the vacuum line to adjust fuel pressure. I assumed that all adjustable regulators were like this. The other ones I've seen have had a nut on the same fitting that you adjust with a wrench.

i have to remove some vacuum lines to loosen the nut that holds down the adjustment screw. i then put the vacuum lines back in except one of them and mine is an allen wrench that fits in there to move it in and out. i dont know about any other ones (heck i dont know about this one i have) haha! but that is how mine is. oh yeah and the vacuum line goes in to the side of mine rather than on top.
