![]() I've heard these things are supposed to be replaced at 50K miles. I'm nearing 80K now and am only getting 15mpg. Is there anyway that I can clean these, or am I really going to have to spend the $$ and buy them?

![]() cad. you can try to clean them with an oxy/ace torch, but no guarantees. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

![]() Well assuming the torch dosen't clean them, is it going to ruin them? I really don't feel like spending $120 on O2 sensors right now. I still need (ok... want) new gears to get this slug moving, and I wouldn't mind lowering too. I guess I just want to be convinced that it's worth the money to replace them.
Thanks |

![]() if you do it right, no. just get the tip a little red and thats it. it should take you 10 seconds the most for each one. like i said, it doesnt always work, but what do you got to lose? i have done this hundreds of times and no problem. remember your not trying to CUT it, just get it a little cheery red so you can burn off the crap.

![]() The Boshe ones are like $60 a piece, autozone ones are $45 a piece. 15mpg isn't that bad man, averaged....I heard at 100k they should be replaced. Try driving slower, and not driving as hard, it just might work. =P
