Engine Crate motor and new tranny
We're looking to get a crate motor this winter. Looking at a 331, low compression for Novi 2K with 15 PSI of boost. We're looking at the DSS Pro Bullet 331 or Super Pro Bullet 331 with the Pro Lite Pistons. Do you guys have any comments on the crank and pistions they use, are they the best? Or if not, what are the best pistions and cranks in your opinion?
We're also looking to upgrade from the stock T5. We're looking at the Tremec T56, my son has heard some things about Tremec's being somewhat hard to put in gear and stiff gears, any comments? |

Thanx for the reply, sounds like our goals are where you're at with your stang. Have you ever run your car in the 1/4?

The Tremec Transmissions are great.. No problems, no complaints. Everyone who has them has only nice things to say.
As for the motor, I have never used one of there blocks, but i haven't much bad about them either.. |

It was tuned on the dyno then de-tuned until I get bigger fuel rails, lines and a custom burned chip.
With everything backed off it has 458rwhp - I forgot the tq. When tuned its looking like 550 rwhp. They lost fuel and shut the car down before the pull was complete. They thought one of the fuel pumps went bad- turned out to be the car pulling down put the fuel lines in a bind.
