Anyone using Canton racing pans?
I am currently running the 15-620S 7qt rear sump pan with a felpro 4 piece gasket. The problem is I am leaking from the rear of the pan at the main journal were the rubber piece goes. It was put on new and clean with silicon in the corners and started leaking when I got on it hard. My oil pressure was fine. Are there better 4 piece gaskets out there instead of the standard $12.00 felpro? Or maybe it just didnt fit correctly when it went together? Any help would be great thanks.

I always use the single-piece rubber gasket available from Ford. I also put a dab of silicone at each corner when putting it on and will run a continuous bead of clear silicone around the entire pan-to-block joint after the pan is installed. I've never had leaks. I guess I go to this extent because I hate the thought of leaks....seems to work.

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I will try the one piece gasket and see how it goes. I went with the 4 piece because thats what they recommended with that pan. Also going to install an autometer oil guage just to be sure I dont have too much pressure in there. Still using the stock sender since the new build and aint too sure now on how accurate it is. Well didnt get to put the gasket on today but got the autometer oil guage mechanical instaled didnt take that long to do and fired it up to see what was really happening with the oil pressure. After it warmed up and at idle about 800rpm it was reading 50 psi and then I would bring the rpm up slowly to 4000-4500rpm and it was getting to 68-70psi I did this in the garage it was raining out too much to get it on the street. Whole engine is new combo with standard volume melling oil pump. Got a little over 200 miles on her now and have changed the oil twice. So does anyone think this is too much oil pressure? Thanks for any reply.

Oil pressure sounds right to me. Mr. Gasket Ultraflow makes a good one piece gasket too. I've never had leaks with that one. I do use a Canton windage tray and crank scraper and they are good as far as I can determine.

Thanks Rev. Yesterday I went under the car to see if I have room to get to the pan and even with the QA1 k-member it still looks like I am going to have to lift the engine a little bit to get to the gasket properly. The biggest problem is the power rack is in the way. Thanks for the reply.

It's been my experience that Canton pans leak often. Unusually often. I'd try following Jeff's advice, and see if that helps.
