Default Question about T5

I just want to know if the T5 WC that came in the 4 cyl. mustangs is the same that the one who cames in the 8 cyl. mustangs.

The input shaft is longer and narrower on the 4 banger. It is also alot weaker and first gear is way low.

This will cause another debate but,. The four banger trans will push up into the crank and can cause main bearing failure. I would never use the trans for that single reason. Yes you can make it work but why. You will just beat it apart and need another one later on. To me thats money wasted.

This should help you with the details of the differences - I had to shrink it quite a bit but it is still readable. To do the swap right, you need to change the V8 pilot for a sleeve with the right ID............

if you do the swap right will the trans work fine in the chart it says theres only 15lb/ft diff between the 2

Yes many guys have done it and run them. How good a driver/shifter you are plays into their longevity too.
