Chrome valve covers

Where would I find great looking cheap chrome valve covers?

chrome holds heat, you might wanna try composite, or aluminum.

could try jegs, summitt also

Man I wouldnt get no cheap valve covers. I think you'll regret it in the long run. Plus they look cheap too. I would just save a couple more dollars and good a good set like aluminum or something like that.

Chrome (Die cast) for Ford 302 EFI.
$240 (ouch)
I know you said cheap, but thats the best I could do for you.
Or you could go with M-6000-K302 which are polished aluminum and have the Ford oval with Motorsport lettering. Not chrome but pretty sweet just the same. They also come with a new coverplate for the stock intake manifold included for $185

I was after the same look as you but I could not see paying the above prices so I took sandpaper to mine, followed by a buffing wheel and did the job myself. I was very happy with how they turned out. It's a lot of work, but not nearly as much work as the intake manifold was. I can e-mail you some pics if you like.

I'm working on my intake now what kind of polish did you use on yours after you where done sanding?

Ford Racing sells valve covers for the 5.0, but I always wonder why they include the useless oil cap and manifold plate. This adds at least $50.00 dollars to the price. I wish they would just give us the valve covers with out the extra crap. You can find these in chrome, black finish, etc. for around $150.00.

You could also polish up the original stock valve covers - I did this myself some years back and have seen this done by others. When properly done, they look real good and can be done for a low $$$ investment.

If you have seen CHROME valve covers for $150 let us all know where. That is a killer price and the cheapest I have ever heard of them.

I used mothers aluminum mag polish and hand rubbed but the more common way is to use tripoli followed by white rouge. Do a search on "Forced 347" and see if you find a guy with a red vert that is polished to the T. His site gives an overview of how to polish.

Bob one more thing to note. Be careful of power tools, they gouge easily and leave you to do extra work getting them gouges out.

The dress up kits are around 165, and the covers themselves are often 115. The covers look the same to me, but they often say they're not for efi... anyway, here's some Al for $140 (check out the others too):

GEFRacing has some for the 302 for around $50 for a pair of covers and around $90 for the dress up kit. Ford Racing product.

Dugan Mustang sells them also. If you send them yours as a "core" for $95 they send you a polished pair. They also sell the Motorsport efi chrome vc's for 169.00 s&h $12. Ford pn M-6582-D302
