E-cam with 1.7 RR.
I have done everything I can do to my 302. All I can think to do is go to some 1.7 RR and maybe a comp polymers upper intake and a 70mm TB in an effort to get more top end.
Has anyone gone from 1.6-1.7 roller rockers with an E cam and if so was it worth it? Right now my upper intake is a stock cobra with a 65mm TB and my lower is stage 3 ported. Maybe I can squeeze some more HP out of this engine before I do my stroker set-up

just ditch the E-cam in favor of a Ed Curtis grind

Re: E-cam with 1.7 RR.
Another cam is not an option. I will put a custom grind in my 331 when I build it but the 302 is stuck with the E-cam

Re: E-cam with 1.7 RR.
Most of the stuff I mess with wouldnt respond to another 30 thou of lift. Have you checked your actual lift with a blocked up lifter? There can be a substantial amount of power left in valvetrain geometry. Especially with stud mount rockers.
With everything else being equal, I'd be surprised if another .030 what worth 5 hp, in your situation. The first thing I would do is optimize the pushrod length and bump the spring pressure up. Andy

Re: E-cam with 1.7 RR.
I ran my car for about 3 years with the E303 and 1.7 roller rockers it was enjoyable but not optimal. The E cam, I didn't feel was enough for ported heads, but was great when the car still had stock heads and the factory 1.6 rockers. If you are already planning a different engine then use the E cam.

Re: E-cam with 1.7 RR.
If you don't want to do a custom cam, what about a TFS stage 2? They're only like $149, and it would be a much better cam for a h/c/i car

Re: E-cam with 1.7 RR.
I just might do that.
I hate changing cams, but right now I have the entire front clip off so it would be pretty easy.

Re: E-cam with 1.7 RR.
I have decided to port my upper intake and install a 70mm TB and possibly a 100 shot
Should do more than a cam change
