Default Re: New cam/intake power....any guesses?

I got the EXE 268H cam and the RPM Air Gap carb intake from Summit yesterday. I have to change back to 1.6 rockers from the 1.7 TrickFlow RR's that I was using. They are on back order for another week more or less. I'm going to to go ahead and start tearing it down as I like to take my time and degree in the cam as well as check piston/valve clearance etc. I can't really finish all that until I receive the 1.6 RR's though.

Jester, I'm thinking about the same as you suggest. Hoping for 15-20 more peak hp without low end loss of torque. I do have the simulated dyno programs (Desk Top, Engine Analyzer, DynoSim). The problem with some of these is that they assume that all increases in carb flow numbers always result in more hp. In other words, the program assumes that the engine can use the extra flow. Just try putting in excessive flow for some low performance engine and you will still be rewarded with more power (at least in my experiments). At any rate, I don't think my 625 CFM is hurting me any.

I do appreciate your input on this. I guess only the time slips and DynoJet will really tell me much. Actually, my G-Tech Pro hp/torque measurement feature works pretty well and is fairly consistent once you get used to the lower numbers.

After I get the cam/intake installed, and get time slips and new DynoJet numbers I'll post them.
