Tires or drags
I need new tires but i have a couple questions...what is the largest tire you can fit on pony rims...16 inch?? If i go with a bigger tire, will that help me get more traction at the track or should i go with drag radials...what would be the best drag radial to get for 16 inch rims?
Also need to get a new clutch...whats should i go with?.. should i also get a new shifter, if so what kind? Thanks for the help!!

Re: Tires or drags
The new Mickey Thompson drag radials are awesome they hook just like a slick. A 245 fits perfect on pony's
I am running a $160.00 Ford racing clutch and it works great for a 12-14 second car. There are alot of good clutches out there. As far as shifters go the Steeda tri-ax gets my vote but the pro 5.0 is excellent also.

Re: Tires or drags
i really like my centerforce II clutch w/ steeda tri-ax shifter. grips 60% better than stock and less pressure on the cluth pedal, great for a daily driver/limited track time

Re: Tires or drags
If your gonna be daily driving on them, I would NOT get the M/T DR's they wear out VERY fast (6-8K miles) and are downright dangerous in the rain. I would get some Nitto drag radials if your gonna be daily driving on them. A P245 sized tire is about as wide as I would go on a Pony rim.
I am running a Ford Racing King Cobra clutch in my car and it works well for me. But also look into S.P.E.C. clutches. I'll be replacing my clutch with a SPEC stage 2 when my King Cobra comes out.

Re: Tires or drags
I dunno the M/T's wear pretty good, at least they did for me last year. I did 50+ passes on a set, still could've gotten a few more but car got smashed up before I could. And did a fair bit of street driving, not everyday, but on any sunny day that came up.
