Default gt 40-p heads

hello everyone !!
i own a set of gt 40 p heads and wanted to know a little more about them before i do any machine work to them.

do they have 1.6 rockers,do they have a 3 angle valve job on them from factory.
thats all not much thanks

oh ya and if there is anything else i should know about them thanks!!!

I believe most all 302's came with a 1/6 rocker on them, as far as the 3 angle valve job goes, I can't say for sure. If I had to guess I would say no, but that's only a guess. How old are these heads? If they have any miles on them I would reccomend a 3 angle valve job. Are you doing the machine work yourself? Good luck with everything. I believe those heads came on explorer's from the factory, but again I could be incorrect. I have been in and out of the mustang hobby since approx. 1995, but I thought I read that somewhere one time. Take care.

They did come on explorers and you are gonna need headers designed for those heads. Some guys have gotten by with headers that were not made for the GT-40p head, but I do not know what headers those were. I believe those headers had to be dented here and there.

ya they came off a 96 or something explorer.
i got my long tubes to fix i just dented them a bit.
so u guys think i should get the 3 angle, what about shaving them my stock heads have ben shaved and it helped out a lot.

none of this is being done by myself by a local shop
