Default pcv qustion

I know this isn't the most exciting topic in the world!

I did a carb swap on my 91 lx 5.0 . I have done some performance work like ported heads and intake with a cam. So anyways, since I did the swap a while back I have been experiencing a weird ticking sound comming from the pcv. At first I thought it was a leaking headder, but then by elimination I determined it to be infact the PCV. I know this, because when I pull the vacum from the pcv the noise stops. It is a fairly loud ticking sound of the valve opening and closing too rapidly.

I am taking vacum for the valve from the back of the performer RPM intake. Could this be the problem? Is there too much vacum there? Any help would be great, this problem is a real pain.
