Cool Back in business.

A week ago I grabbed a stock 87 motor for 250.00, 123,000 miles. I droped it in the ol green monster. I let my buddies drive it last night, on raidials the went 13.70s down to a 13.24 all around 100mph. I made the last pass and only one pass. 13.02 @ 103.99 with a 1.85 60ft. It was so fun to be back at it. I can't wait to finish the 342. Well now for the Question, B or E cam in this stock motor, I have both, I like the B better. What do Yall think.

What do we think? I think if you can get a stocker to do 13.0's, I need to have you tune my new stock 91.

I've been away from this site for a while. But I remember that your car has been lightened quite a bit, right? 13.0 @ basically 104mph is damn impressive for a stock 5.0 motor. How much does your car weigh 88workcar? You've got some drag suspension on their don't you? Is that 1.85 60' on a street radial I take it?

Yal are both correct, LIGHT car and drag suspension. The tune on it sucks right now. No T-stat, heavy black smoke. I will put a stat in it Sun, 180 and a fuel press reg, so I can lean it down a bit. I am trying to get a set of drag raidials. I don't want to use my slicks or ET streets because I only have three bolts in the tranny. I will have to replace the tranny case, one ear is broke. $200 from now. I built a tranny today, for ol grocerygetter, He will put the smack down on me wed night. When I fix the tranny case he will get a dose of the "get right juice" and the slicks. It is so nice to be back at it.

From one SD-er to another, go for the 13.0's on the stock cam! That's really close already. I wish I had done it myself, I got it to 13.26 @ 101.5, all stock except for pullies and exhaust, on some rock-hard Pirelli P500's that were on the pony wheels I bought. I really regret not seriously trying to get there before I pulled it apart and put in the Exploder motor, but you know how 'Stangers are when it comes to mods...

But, if you're going to do it, I'd go with the B-cam as well.

I can go 11s on the stock cam. I am worried about the tranny case with just three bolts.

Yeah, I'd be worried too about the 3 bolts. I remember you dipping into the 11s a while back 88workcar. What motor were you running back then? It had rather mild heads from what I remember.

Check your PMs 88workcar. I got a few questions for you.

Yal are going to flip. 1.838 60ft, 5.33 330, 8.225 @ 85.03 1/8, 12.856 @ 102.23. With this ol 250.00 motor. All I did diff from last wed was a t- stat, this is sick. I will put a tune up on it this weekend. and prolly get crazy and port the lower intake, mabey. Oh ol grocerygetter didn't whoop me, I built his 3550 and he put it in. Come to fine out it is locked up, he called last night. Tonight he called back and said that when he saw the E-brake on and released it, no more locked up tranny,(thank GOD) , Who has a B-303 for sale?
