Lucas Oil Products
Anyone have experience with Lucas Oil Stabilizer? It says it raises fuel pressure, lowers oil consumptions, slows oil leaks, protects oil breakdown...blah blah blah. It says add 1 quart for every 4 quarts of oil at every oil change. Just wondering what your opinions of this product is........
Also Lucas Fuel Additive........comments? Supposed to clean injectors and the whole 9 yards. It says add 3oz per 10 gallons of fuel and adding more than that will not harm anything.....is that a safe bet?

Re: Lucas Oil Products
Its good stuff. Sale lots of it everyday at the parts store. It do what is says on the bottle. It wont fix a bad leak but itll help some. Look down about 25-30 posts. Some one else was asking about it. There are several comments there as well from pepole who have used it. I put in a quart every time I change the oil in every thing I drive. I think the injector cleaner is good preventive maintanace, but as far fixing an injector already carboned up to where its not working right, its probally not gona help it much. I dont know if using more would harm anything or not?

Re: Lucas Oil Products
The Lucas Fuel Additive will help clean out old fuel lines. I ran that in my car on a quarter of a tank and then changed my fuel filter and injectors. I was upgrading injectors, so I wasn't concerned with the possible damage to the injectors. As for the oil stabilizer, that is mainly just sealant. The additives in the stabilizer cause all gaskets and seals it comes into contact with to swell. Thus, fixing minor leaks and helping to withhold engine pressure. Its a quick fix, but definitely not on the performance side. Have you ever looked at how thick that stuff is??? Its like pouring molasses into your motor. There has to be a small amount of added rotational drag.

Re: Lucas Oil Products
The oil stabilizer is alot more than just sealant. It helps oil from viscosity break down. I worked nine years in big truck shop, run many truck on chassis dyno. Ive seen it drop oil temps 20-30 deg and help reduce blow-by. Iam talking about engines doing 1800-2000 ftlbs torque and running 25-35+ psi boost. I,am not trying to argue here Ive just seen what the product can do. Iam not into using lots of pour in additives but this is good stuff ( does what is says itll do ).

Of course. I was not questioning how well the product works, just wanted to throw a small warning out there so everyone doesn't go out and buy every Lucas product known to man. I can see how useful such a product would be on large applications, such as commercial truck engines. Like you said, those motors have enough torque to make serious drag cars envious, not to mention the amount of boost that is ran for hours on end in these trucks. I agree that Lucas products do exactly what they say, I've used them before. Matt |
