Default block to cross member lenght issues.

I have measured the distance from the back of my 92 302 block to the holes in the tranny x member and the distance is 20 3/4 with the new crossmember moved all the way forward. Than I measured the 72 c4 tranny and it is 20 inches. from the front of the bellhousing to the holes on the tailshaft. With the energy poly mounts the distance will be the same. I have a QA1 k-member,energy poly motor mount and tranny mount. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks...
