Default Msd Mechanical Distrib For 5.0???

I am thinking of eliminating my ecu controll to my distributor, cause It cuts out sometimes for no reason. Can I put a 8582 MSD mechanical advance distributor( I have a ignition box and coil) on a Mass Air 5.0 without doin any other changes to the computer system. How do the injectors know when to fire on a mass air 5.0

Call Summit Racing and tell them your application. They are pretty good about knowing these kinds of things. I am thinking it cant be done with a fuel injected car, but I could be wrong. www.summitracing.com

I don't think it can be done without modifications. The ECU needs to have a signal from the crank to tell it where the engine is. {crank trigger, pickup coil, etc}.

Why don't you just fix the factory dist??
