Default Threads on Motorcraft Plugs

Because my 93 GT pinging under load (Vortech SQ-Trim) and only at 5th gear, i am replacing the Autolite 3922 plugs (2 ranges colder with Motorcraft AWSF-22C (1 range colder).

I had noticed that the Motorcraft plugs are only "half" threaded as opposed to the Autolites which are fully threaded. I suppose that the Motorcraft plugs do not screw as far as the Autolite's.

Is this OK?
