Steering To Hard!!!
My 87 Gt's Steering Is Very Hard. When Im At A Dead Stop And Turn The Wheel I Have To Put All My Weight Into It. Ive Been In Other Ponies And There Steering Was Very Soft. WHEN MOVING STEERING GETS A LITTLE SOFTER.I Know I Have Power Steering, So What Do You Think It Could Be???

Re: Steering To Hard!!!
Not trying to be a smart-ass but is the pump full of fluid? If it is empty, you probably have a hose leak.

Re: Steering To Hard!!!
Does it make any kind of noise? Make sure your belt is not slipping, check the fluid. Its either the pump or the rack going bad. As long as there is no binding in the system somewere.

Re: Steering To Hard!!!
almost sounds like a slipping belt. Other wise the power steering pump going bad.

Re: Steering To Hard!!!
To see if the belt is slipping, give the motor a quick jolt to the throttle. You'll hear it squeak it sounds just like v belts do when they are loose. What is the condition of your belt and tensioner? Does the belt have cracks in it? Does the tensioner feel good and springy? I think it's your pump going south on you though.
