Default oil pan

I have a 89LX i am putting Speed-o-motive 426 stroker in. purchased short block 6 years ago then got married, had 4 kids and a new house . time to re-focus on car. Just read somthing in the forum about fms 351fox oil pan conversion kit will not work with stroker motor. Can anyone tell me why? i have motor sitting in car and only need to put top end on before turning it over and firring it up.

The rods actually hit the pan where it bolts to the block. Even have to notch the block there too. If you already have the block, look at where the oil pan bolts on, you'll see where they clearanced it. Gonna have to go with a Canton, STEF'S, or Milodon pan that has a bit more meat up there so you can clearance it for the rod bolts.

Thanks!! For the information. looks like I will be pulling the motor back out. Un less it is possiable to remove the pan while the engine is still in the car.

NOPE! Not unless you remove the K member.

Did you turn the motor over at all after assembly?
