single plane or dual plane manifold?
Which manifold is better? I was original going with the edelbrock air gap dual plane, but after searching through the mustang web sites, the majority seems to be using single plane. Here’s what I have so far, ready to install, GT40 svo y303 heads, E303 cam. Holey 650 DP. After market hi performance stock fuel pump, and Mallory hi fire ignition. and msd coil. The car is a daily driver

Re: single plane or dual plane manifold?
That E303 cam will like a dual plane intake better. SIngle plane intakes work better higher up in the RPM range, dual planes are down low.

Re: single plane or dual plane manifold?
Yep, the dual plane is the street intake...good torque down low and decent power through the mid-range. The single plane sacrifices the low end for high end horsepower. If you're gonna spin that thing to 7500, the single plane is your answer but if you're racing stoplight to stoplight go with the dual plane.

Re: single plane or dual plane manifold?
Well, when I ran my last carb it wasn't a Ford, but my 67 Camaro made beter average power with a single plane Victor Jr with 1" spacer (as opposed to the Eddy dual plane) - 355 Lingenfelter motor, Comp cams 280, worked 993 heads, 3310 Holley tuned and set up for the turbo 350/3,000 stall B&M and 4:10 gears. Each combo has it's own sweet spots when it comes to parts used. Went 383 eventually with that motor.

Re: single plane or dual plane manifold?
What about power band, which is better? From idle, 1500, 2000, or doesn’t it matter. Also my red line, I’m sure I’ll be able to rev higher, how do I know what to shift at with out having it dyno?

Re: single plane or dual plane manifold?
I run a professional products cross wind (air gap clone). Its the best of both worlds for a street car. good torque down low and revs to 6500 rpm. I made 300rwhp with the inake and a holley 650 dp. Good luck

Re: single plane or dual plane manifold?
I was looking at the manifold, wasn’t sure how well it would perform for the price, I think it’s half the price of the Edelbrock air gap,

Get a Weiand Stealth. It'll suit your application.
