Default Cam trouble

what is a flat tappet cam is it a roller or a solid lift cam i am lost i was told my car had a flat tappet cam but that tells me nothing i want to know if it is solid or a roller cam
please help and any help would be greatly appreciated

a flat tappet usaully refers to a cam for a non-roller engine - like a 60-70s style 289 or 302. It can be a solid cam or hydraulic though, just not a roller.
