Exclamation Help! Clearence problem!!!

I just put a set of 17 X 9" cobra r's on my 89GT... I have 1/4 inch clearance on the front driver's side.

The car has 90/10 drag struts on the front- could that be the problem? Also, it seems as if it has 4 cylinder springs on it. I have brand new shocks on the back, and when I press down on the car, it takes a few seconds to come back up! I'm thinking of hunting down stock springs, but I'm afraid that'll take it too high- Is anyone running a 90 or below 5.0 with 17 x 9's and lowered? I thank you guys in advance for any help... What kind of springs/struts should I get?

Oh yeah, I running 245/45/17's up front.

Default Re: Help! Clearence problem!!!

Okay I ordered stock springs (yuck!)- turns out the driver's side is a stock 89 fender, and the better side is a 91-93 fender. Who knew?
So we is going to be trying stock ride hieght and new struts, and 91-93 fenders- and maybe 1/4 inch spacers as well...and take out the fender well linings. This "cheap" project has gotten ridiculous. What a crappy way to start thanksgiving!
