BBK's new intake manifold (SSI)
Has anyone tried one of these new upper\lower intake manifolds from BBK? 5.0 did a shootout of various intakes including the BBK, but used the same cam for all. Would not an intake that's designed for low-end\midrange power be better off with a cam that matches it's power band?

Re: BBK's new intake manifold (SSI)
I have results of two or three tests on that intake with different combos, with one being the latest 5.0 magazine test. The BBK makes essentially the same power as a GT40 intake on a 302 or 347. If you like the looks of it - put one on, but it won't out-perform other comparable intakes.........

that thing is pathetic. Go to the junkyard and pick up an explorer intake, you'll make more power and you'll save $400-500

Re: BBK's new intake manifold (SSI)
I agree completely...the BBK SSI is a waste of good aluminum. Not worth the extra trouble and expense for an intake that doesn't perform any better than a traditional long runner.

Re: BBK's new intake manifold (SSI)
I think BBK will have a hard time recovering R&D, mold costs, etc on that intake. It didn't do as well as the GT40 on that 347 test in the new 5.0 mag........
