The old mustangs that raced (Ford backed proffesionally) back in the early 70's ran ram air similarly... a little unorthadoxed but makes sense to me... I'm not a carb guru though. You might want to incorporate that idea into a larger box around the carb like they did that comes from the ground. But, without air being forced through that intercooler I doubt you'll even notice a difference.

A few years ago my buddy said, "It would be smart for Ford to run the air coming into the motor through the a/c system. It would freeze it." We laughed our a$$e$ off at him, and now low and behold.. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you the new Lightning.

Too bad we laughed he might have made it rich.
