I also have a 460 sitting in the shed to go in my 79 F-250 when the old motor finally gives out, but......
It would get a powerstroke in a heart beat, if it were not such a task to swap in. I know they are a lot more expensive to buy up front. Yes, the oil changes CAN be more expensive. I am telling you right now, they are by far the best choice. My fathers 97 f-250 has the 7.3 powerstroke, and the dang thing is an animal, and we have only done a little work to the exhaust and a programmer. With an AOD and a 3.55 gear, it routinely gets 20-21 miles to the gallon....and at worst got 16 when we loaded it down with everything we had and drove at 75-80 mph. There is no comparing the 460 to the powerstroke when it comes to fuel economy, let alone brute power. Ryan
