New Clutch!
Just thought you would all like to know, my new ceramic clutch and custom built pressure plate are on the way here from Florida!
I talked to a machinist on the phone last night for over an hour, he's smart, he knows what he's doing, I found a new machine shop, HAPPY THINGS happening over here! Not "officially" on ProMotion's payroll yet, but gettin close! LMAO

Re: New Clutch!
What kind of ceramic clutch are you getting? We need to upgrade our clutch and trans on our 88GT soon. The supercharger is going on now with a goal of 500-550rwhp.
Who did you get your stuff through in Florida? |

Re: New Clutch!
Yeah, I have to redo my clutch this spring also. I use an 11" sintered iron set-up. The disc is fine, but it needs a pressure plate with a lot more base pressure. I'm going from one with 760 lbs to 1280 lbs with counterweighting that will add another 1000+ lbs at RPM.

Re: New Clutch!
do you know which pressure plate you're going with? How will the clutch pedal feel? We're looking for a good solid clutch/trans but the car will be streetable.

Re: New Clutch!
My clutch is a RAM 11" long-style sintered iron race clutch set-up with a billet aluminum RAM flywheel. The clutch works fine on the street and the pedal pressure isn't bad at all.

Re: New Clutch!
I WAS running a RAM 900 series sintered iron disc, with a long style pressure plate. I can't complain, it did REALLY well for me, but time to upgrade. It only lasted 1 summer. Sure it didn't have an easy life at all, but it's time to step it up.
For you guys looking for a clutch setup, here comes my sales pitch! LOL Call WALT at ProMotion in Ft. Lauderdale FL. 1-800-771-6843 PM me, I'll give you my real name so you can tell Walt I told you to call.

Re: New Clutch!
Wow, I've been running my current clutch for several years. Here's a link to photos of the set-up: http://media.mustangworks.com/showgallery.php/cat/3080
And, if anyone's looking for a RAM set-up call RAM at 803.788.6034 and ask for Mike Norcia. Tell him Dan at MustangWorks.com sent you.

Yeppers! Same EXACT clutch that I was running! Like I said, it did really well for me, no complaints at all. The ONLY problem I had was after 1 summer, the metal inbetween the "pucks" was actually touching the flywheel, and it hosed the pressure plate as well, HOT spots galore. Guess them 6,500 RPM "side step" launches took their toll. LOL
