Re: clutch issues!!
C-4???? Put the crack pipe down dude, that stuff will kill you!
A "bad" clutch cable is merely a symtom of something else gone bad. Pressure plate OK? Motor/Tranny mounts OK? Firewall adjuster LOCKED? Cable too close to the header? Clutch disc needs replaced? Long story short, the cable IS NOT your problem! Properly installed the cable should last you at least a few years. You gots a problem elsewhere my friend!!

Re: clutch issues!!
I had the same issue with my long tubes.
Here is your answer: Maximum Motorsports Universal Clutch cable Part #MMCL-11 Maximum Motorsports Clutch Cable insulator Part #MMCL-14 Use a DEI heat sheath around your clutch cable anywhere it is close to your header and secure it with zip ties. This will give you a much longer clutch cable life span. When you get expendable income, you might want to think about getting your long tubes ceramically coated. I highly suggest that you read the cable tech FAQ at Maximum Motorsports: http://www.maximummotorsports.com/co...cable_tech.php Hope this helps...

Re: clutch issues!!
could just be the way the cable is routed. I know if I route mine in the stock way then it will burn the crap out of the cable, even with a heat "shield" on the cable. But if route it just on the other side of the motor mount then it's perfect.

There ya go. I had to route mine all the way up by the oil filter, and then sneak it behind the headers. Actually had insulated clamps on the oil pan bolts, along with heat shield on the cable itself.

Re: clutch issues!!
A built c4 is great, definately not as fun.
Hey Guys i have my clutch cable routed through the stock location with shorty headers, seems like i have to push the clutch in all the way to the floor when it's hot, to start it? i have an aftermarket cable, quad, and firwall adjuster with no lock, could i try somekind of heat shield, or maybe try adjusting the clutch, the end of the cable is threaded pretty far already.

Re: clutch issues!!
do you mean that you have to hit it all the way to the floor for the clutch switch to engage to allow you to start it? or that it doesn't actually disengage the clutch itself as easy when it is hot? if that's the case then just take up a little slack, either with the firewall adjuster or the cable itself. I prefer NON-adjustable cables, as they just seem stronger (I've broken 4 adjustable cables and 0 non-adjustable) along with the firewall adjuster and a decent quadrant
