![]() Is there anyway to open the hatch from the inside if the key is lost?
I don't want to call a locksmith?

![]() If, big if, you can get in the hatch area and drop the plastic from around the latch, you may be able to unbolt it. Other than that, a locksmith it is.

![]() The only way is to do what The Methodist said. Crawl up there and get the trim off and unbolt. Tight quarters, but can be done.

![]() Well...good new and more good news. My interior is all but gutted but I found out another way to get in from OUTSIDE the car.
Apparently, there is a little plate under the lock which can be unbolted and the cylinder replaced.......... or removed and opened with a screwdriver.

![]() Yep. The hatchback Mustang's have a serious inherent design flaw when it comes to theft with that riveted plate. I've seen a number of the plates with a philips head screw rather than the rivet, making it a 30sec operation.
