Probably forces the tranny to slip a little when at higher RPMs which makes it seem smoother. What does it do when shifting into reverse?

My stock AOD
theres your problem right there

i'm no tranny expert so I couldn't tell you what the problem is exactly. But it sounds like its time for a strong rebuild or a Lentech,

good luck with it,

eagle1957, i could watch that for hours. Did you check your fluids? I really dont know much about auto trans, but maybe the extra rpm's build up some fluid pressure thats missing lower in the rpm? Idk, just throwing it out there for ideas.
