Re: gumball mustang?
dude i think that would be sweet. I,ve always wanted to do something like that or the texas mile or some other kind of flat out top speed stuff. i would think a 93 with a 03 cobra engine swap could hang with them.

Re: gumball mustang?
IMHO, The Gumball isn't about horsepower, and/or speed. Sure in a 1/4 mile, that Ferrari is gonna smoke you like a pack of Kool's.
BUT, I say again, BUT, if you can keep that Stang on the road..... Pee in a cup, drink rain water, have fuel air lifted in, whatever you can do. KEEP THE CAR ON THE ROAD. And ya got 'em! Of course a 600 horse 347 with 2 overdrives and a 50 gallon fuel tank won't hurt ya!!!

Re: gumball mustang?
I think If I did one, it would get a 6 speed and a sweet suspension set up for some serious road course applications.
Not sure on the engine, since fuel comsumption would be an issue. If the reliability was there, I would tend to lean towrds a turbo 347 or the cobra motor swap possibly. And like Jester said, a large fuel tank. I really like this topic, keep us posted. Ryan

Re: gumball mustang?
yeah i think the cobra motor with maybe a whipple or KB stuck ontop would probebly work the best on the fuel and power ratio but the turbo 347 sounds good to...where could i find a cobra motor thats not completely molested and torn to hell? and what would it take to put that in my notch? and thanks white i've been thinkin about this for a while but i didnt wanna post it because i thought u guys might be like bahahaha loser gumballs for pussys!...i wont be able to put these plans into action for a few years but i wanna get all the basic set up hashed out now so i dont have to work as hard when i do start to build it up
