Default overheated 93 stang

OK. Here it goes: I put a new alternator (95AMP), new water pump, and flushed out the radiator (Motorsport 3 core) and replaced the hoses. During this, I also cleaned the fan and its clutch with degreaser. Put everything back on and started the car. After about 10-15 min, the temp gauge starts rising (also replaced it a few months ago, brand new!). I checked all hose connections and bolts to make sure everything was tight.
Can someone tell me what's happening? I thought by flushing the radiator (with a garden hose) and replacing it with fresh coolant and air spots removing liquid I'd be fine...
need advisek, thanks!!!

Default Re: overheated 93 stang

When you flush the radiator, you need to start the car with the cap off, once the thermostat opens the water level will go way down and you can top it off, then cap it. you most likely have air in the system. Another possibility is you got a reverse rotation waterpump, a lot of rebuilts are like that, if you don't change the belt around, the pump might not be pumping water through the system. How much is it rising, it will rise till the thermostat opens up, do you have an autometer gauge?
