Question Adjustable Clutch Quad

I'm looking to get a firewall adjustable clutch quadrant and cable for my 95 GTS. Who makes the best one?

I'm also looking to replace the stock clutch. Who makes the best clutch with stock pedal pressure? The GTS is my daily driver and sees at least 2 hours of stop and go traffic every day. So I don't want a heck of a lot of extra pedal effort if I don't need it. What does everyone think?

We've got the Steeda firewall adjuster and quandrant under the dash, it's great. Also got the CenterForce Dual-Friction great clutch - pedal not too hard. Can't say if it's like a stock clutch as our car didn't really run when we got it.

I've got the UPR Billet Firewall Adjuster, Quadrant and cable kit. I love it. It has a lock ring on the adjuster so that it doesn't back off, and the quadrant has 3 positions available in it. I really like this setup, its worked well at the strip too.

As for clutch, it depends on your setup. I've ran the H/D ford setup, liked it, lasted quite a long time, a little harder than stock, but very liveable.

The easiest pedal effort clutch I've ran is the Ford King Cobra, its really the H/D with a different spring rate in the pressure plate (That's what I was told, someone correct me if I'm wrong) that causes it to have a a lighter pedal. It works really well too.

The D/F Centerforce is probably one of the best stock type (diaphragm) clutches, but it does have a bit more pedal effort than the H/D ford clutch, and its a really aggressive street/strip clutch so if you have a stock motor, its not the best one to get.

Take a look at Hayes or Ram too, they offer some great clutch setups, I can't tell you anything about them as I haven't tried one yet.

Hope that helps.

I had a King Cobra clutch and hated it, I went to a Ford racing clutch and love it, it has stock pedal pressure and is just $159.00 in Summit.

Thanks, has anyone tried either the Centerforce 1 or 2? They are in the $175 range and right now my car is stock so I can't see spending $350 for the Dual Friction if I don't need it. I plan on adding more power when I get enough money saved. But I would rather have a streetable clutch for now.

I had a Ram in my '83 at one time. I can't say that I had good luck with it. I replaced it twice and it always chattered and was very unpredictable. I don't think I will ever buy another one.

My brother's car had the Centerforce 2, and he's had a Valeo in it. Both were great, but the Centerforce 2 lasted longer. Its a good clutch, and $175 doesn't sound too bad for it.

I have a spec stage 1 in my car, pedal feel and grab is great, but we had to grind several places in the bellhousing to clear the pressure plate, wasn't that big a deal, but it did hit in about 4 spots and one took a good bit of grinding.
I've also heard the spec pp is heavy and hard on your tranny but I read that online so???????
