im putting in new H&R springs in the front of my car. I have the spring compressor that goes up into the spring.

I assume you want to run this up from the bottom. THe trouble im having is that the shaft of the compressor is as long as the damn spring. I cant figure this thing out. YOu cant feed it from the top because there is no hole. You have to go up from the bottom of the control arm through that center hole. Any ideas? The compressor doesnt seem to compress the spring without having a bunch of threaded rod sticking out the top......well that wont work as there is no where to put the excess on the top..... anyone know of any tricks for this ? im thinking a piece of pipe on the bottom end to take up the slack in the rod so the threaded part doesnt stick out the top.

what I always done, was compress the spring real small. Put two pieces of rope, 180 degrees apart, and tie it tight. 1/4" nylon works well. Make 3 - 4 raps. Remove the spring compressor, install the spring, cut the rope.

It only has to be commpressed enough to fit. Works well and is safe when done right.
