Default removal of sway bar??

ok i here that its a good idea to remove the front sway bar? the guy that told me didnt really tell me why so i thought i would ask the ppl that would really know the pros and cons of it.
i have a 88 GT that is driven only on weekends would it be worth it for me or not??

the only reason i can think of is to save weight.....
not sure why else you would want to do it....

I believe this is only recommended for drag cars.

Mine has been under the house for 3 years.
Not only does it weigh a lot it also allows the front end to react quicker on launch, my car won't pull the tires mind you but the front raises higher and quicker when I launch (sway bar hooks frame to front suspension, right?) So the body can raise much higher (more travel room w/o bar) and help plant the rears, A Fox body won't take a curve with or without it,(I saw it done and read about it in several mags and on this site I belive) I can't tell it's gone when driving daily and I know better than to take a curve at speed so...

Mine came off in 1992, I have logged a 130,000 miles with out it. If you don't carve corners, GET RID OF IT.

well i dont carve corners at all. my car is being built to drive on weekends and go in a striaght line so maybe after all i will take it out.
