A9L computer application
Hello,
I have a friend who has a 94 GT 5.0 and was wanting to know if the A9L ECU computer will work in his car?

Re: A9L computer application
He would have to rewire the EFI system, add a radiator fan circuit, add a BAP sensor and wiring....it would be more cost effective, and a better alternative (IMHO), to go with an aftermarket tuner + it would leave him room to grow (tune), if more upgrades are planned......my 2¢

Re: A9L computer application
It can be done pretty easily with the PIH (plug in harness) conversion from PMAS. You may be able to find old ones for sale on the internet. I just did a 94 conversion to an A9L about a month ago. If he's an automatic (AODE), he'll also need a standalone transmission controller like the Baumanator.

Re: A9L computer application
Ok cool. I was for sure you could do it, because I know I have read that guys have changed the SN-95 ECU for an older one. Something about the A9L and A9P were more tolerant to camshaft changes and such. Thanks!

Re: A9L computer application
meknized - is your Cobra an original Ford casting and is it stock (no porting)? And do you know if the Ford part number is cast into the top front water crossover or on the side of the intake between runners?
Just curious.......
