![]() Im flushing my brake system this weekend and want to know what others run for brake fluid? I have heard that the ford heavy duty from a dealership is good stuff but do i go dot3 dot4 dot5???

![]() DOT 3 and 4 are completely compatible and are hygroscopic (they like to absorb water captured inside the fluid). Flushing out the system every 2 years or so with bleeding will keep your whole system in tip-top shape. DOT 5 (silicone) is expensive, and absorbed water will be seperate as it does not absorb water and pool in the lower parts of the system - read calipers, causing them to fail earlier. It does have it's benefits, but is not really a good choice for a street car imo.

![]() Ford fluid is a hidden secret as an excellent fluid! Especially like the 570'F dry boiling point.
It has all the great qualities of a fluid. Many roadracers that change fluid frequently (2-3 times per summer) use this stuff. The Motul 600 is 600'F, and 3X as expensive, which is the next upgrade. USE FORD HD! Good stuff! ![]()
