'tis a sad day.
The Rat Trap is up for sale gang. One SCREAMIN' 347 can be yours on the cheap. I just put another $1,100 in the machine work I told you all about this winter. I thought I would NEVER say this, but it's time for me to move along. Got something really cool I want to do, and the 347 has to go. So does the tranny I brag about so much. Looking to get $8,000 from the engine (A STEAL!!!!) and $3,500 out of the trans. (ANOTHER STEAL!) I'm off to bigger and "better" things. Put this thing in your Fox, set the shift light to 8,800 and HOLD ON!
http://www.racingjunk.com/post/87523...-347-Ford.html (Typo in the add, car weighed 3250, not 3800) The Fairlane will still be around, but it'll have a much milder 302 based engine in her. And yes, it's still gonna be STICK SHIFT! My local race track closed, and I just can't see spending the cashola to haul this sucker around. Don't have a truck right now, don't want to buy one. I want to DRIVE my car. No REASONABLE offer refused, and I also have the killer clutch (brand new) and Lakewood bellhousing I won't be needing. My "loss" is your gain. I'll tell you anything you want to know, regarding engine, clutch, trans. But Heads/Cam are strictly hush-hush until I have cash in hand.

Re: 'tis a sad day.
Well, after a few weeks on various sites, including racingjunk, with ZERO inquiries about it......
It's not gonna sit in the corner of the garage fellas! It's going in the Fairlane, only it's a bit nastier than it was. Just need to find/build the right carb for the "formula". I'll keep you all posted if you're interested.

Re: 'tis a sad day.
I know I ain't been on this site much lately, but to come back and see you are selling your combo! WTF? I was a little relieved when I read the second post. I figured I was going to get on here and see you are in the low 11's, high 10's with the 'lane. I thought of you last weekend when I was the NMCA race at Beech Bend. There were some fast fairlanes there.

Re: 'tis a sad day.
Nope. Strictly Old Skool N/A over here.
Noone wants "Brutus" (we live in Ohio State country!) and I'm not about to let him sit in the corner. GIDDY UP! 10 Second Fairlane on the way this summer.

Re: 'tis a sad day.
UPDATE! The Scarelane is rollin!
Just a stock 351 HO Windsor with 185,000 miles on it, but I can drive her! Had it out this weekend for a little fun. Fuel cell in tact, little "pee pee" fuel system, and my hot blonde wife with me! Just a few pics for ya, "Brutus" the 347 RAT KILLER and my "Mustangworks Famous Trans" are definitely, DEFINTELY goin in this car! Here's some pics from my big whoppin 185 Horses this weekend, but...... Get used to sayin "10 second SCARELANE" for next summer! BOTH of my hotties! GIDDY UP!

Re: 'tis a sad day.
Had her (BOTH "hers") at the track last night. The black one ran a 16.14!!!!! That's unacceptable!
I would have bet BIG BUCKS that she was faster than that. Stock 351 Windsor with 185,000 miles on it. Who knew? On the bright side, since the black chick was so slow, the blonde chick took her down the track, and that made it all worth it! I am so NOT done with this car.

Re: 'tis a sad day.
Quick check today, TWO psi fuel pressure, and a C6 that's 3 quarts low! Not likin this slushbox thing at all. So I'm throwin the BS flag on that 16.14 @ 80 MPH. Hell, my Escort has done 76 MPH.
The Rat Trap is already going back together, and my 5 speed is sitting there lookin at me, all ready to go! New clutch from Walt, quick once over on the trans, FRESH 347 engine, a little help from Lee Holman...... GIDDY UP!
